Dr. Stephanie Hightower
"RESOLUTION"
We, the members of the Mineral District Medical Society, would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Stephanie Hightower. Our members are all deeply saddened at her passing.
Stephanie has been a member of the Mineral District Medical Society since 2005. During her time with the organization, she volunteered as a social committee chair. She was elected Parliamentarian in 2008 and Vice President in 2015. She regretfully stepped down in 2016 and was unable to serve as our President. Stephanie continued to serve the organization as an active and energetic member. Stephanie's innovative thinking was instrumental in establishing the organization's social media presence.
Stephanie served the Birmingham community as a caring and compassionate family medicine physician. She possessed a wonderful bedside manner and treated her patients with respect and dignity. She participated in local health fairs and gave lectures on various health topics. Her contributions to health care in Birmingham will not soon be forgotten.
Stephanie was a valuable member to the Mineral District Medical Society. She tirelessly supported our mission to improve health care and remove disparities in the African American community. She will be greatly missed by our entire membership because she was more than just a professional colleague. She was our sister and our friend.
Sincerely,
Dr. Chris Carter, President and the entire Mineral District Medical Society Family
